The past few years have been full of change and each still life painting has provided a pocket of calm and focussed time, from the gathering of the objects, to setting up the scenes, to finally painting them. Many of the apples are from my mum’s garden, along with the Feverfew. Jack grew the Cornflowers at home and they were admired by passing neighbours for weeks! There are also fabrics from my sewing box and a few stray pieces of fruit and veg from the fridge that I couldn’t resist painting.
